What Celebrities Think About Writing?

I'm so excited to share my second blog post with you all. This blog was a little different than what I expected. I was able to go out into the field and interview some of the most influential A- List celebrities. Remember when I said "with my inside look, you'll realize that there is more than what meets the eye", well maybe I was wrong. With these celebrities, there was no mystery on how they felt. The lack of substance in some of these answers really surprised me. The most important thing to me right now is my writing. It's how I can communicate all my thoughts with all of you. What I love most about writing, especially with blogs, is that my readers can bounce ideas off of me and tell me how they feel about it, and it then becomes a discussion. Everyone has a voice that needs to be heard whether or not people agree with what you are saying. Writing in any media outlet has become extremely influential in our society today.
Theresa Cruz, Mana Hontana and Kanye East are the three celebrities that I was able to interview for today's blog.
Theresa Cruz is JLO's personal trainer and is verified on Instagram. She loves to focus on building positivity around the women community. She thinks it is super important that young girls learn to love their bodies from a young age so that the confidence can never be shaken. When I asked Theresa about writing her answers were predictable. I knew she loved to work out but I didn't think that was all she did. She explained to us how she writes down in her workout book all the reps she had done for that day and lists what meals she ate. She writes after the gym so that she doesn't forget anything. She explained that she doesn't really like to write because "it takes time away from her lifts". Such a typical answer from a gym freak. She also couldn't explain to me the difference between writing and composing. I think it's time Theresa takes a break from the gym and goes back to school.
Mana Hontana is a rising star that just hit the top 10 best songs on the radio. There was definitely more than what meets the eye with this one. I did not expect her answers to be in depth because of the way she usually portrays herself, not the brightest one in the bunch. She focused on writing giving her an outlet to write her feelings and express to the world what is going on in her life. She made the connection of writing giving people a voice which I loved! Another thing that surprised me was her reasoning for not liking writing. Mana said that she doesn't appreciate how much she shares to just be made fun of on social media. This is an important issue that should be addressed. Celebrities are people just like us and they are putting their lives out on the line for their fans to see. It is important that we support and accept how they are feeling whether we agree with it or not. Mana was also the only celebrity to fully explain to me how she thought writing and composing were similar. She explains that they have the same background of creating something.
Kanye East, our last celebrity was no surprise. He doesn't stray too far from his cousin Kanye West. They are both a little self- centered but hey whatever helps them in their career. Kanye explains that he loves writing about his struggles and mainly about himself. On the surface this can seem self-centered but they say you should write about what you know and who knows you better than yourself? This is the reason his music is so great and powerful because its roots are so deep. He likes to write when he has alone time so that he can really focus on what he wants to share with the world.
After talking with these three celebrities I was able to come to my own conclusions. Writing is an outlet that allows everyone to have a voice. It is a safe space to talk about whatever it is that you want to. Writing also can happen anywhere and at any time, that all depends on that writers preference and when or where they work best. Feelings tended to be the main source on why these three love to write. Whether is writing down your meals to help you keep on track or writing down your experiences to connect with your audience. In most aspects I agree with these three. Writing can be super influential if used in the write way. Sometimes writing can be tedious which some people don't like but once you start it's hard to stop. I believe that there can be differences in writing and composing but ultimately they are the same thing. Both are allowing you to create whatever you would like in order to get your thoughts across.
Hope you guys enjoyed blog 2.
